Baba Yaga (Corrado Farina, 1973)
« on: 12 Mar 2009 - 15:04 »

Thought I'd start a new dedicated thread for this wonderful movie from Farina, which I've almost finished authoring for the fine folks at Shameless Films.

I've had an old Spanish video release for quite some time, which I recently had a look through - and boy, was I amazed. The Spanish dub replaces some of the music with the tracks by Santana and The Beach Boys!

What Santana' and Beach Boys' songs?

The Beach Boys - Sloop John B

I think there may be others too.

Could this be an alternative on the extras or would there be rights problems.

I bet it'd be expensive.  :-*

Hong Koing films seem to get away with it, you never know what soundtrack can appear in them

I will be getting this.

Can someone in the know i.e. sir Marc of Morris tell us what the difference between this and the blue-underground one will be.

I've got the BU one but don't really want to sit all the way through it again just to see what the difference is.

Basically, and it says this on the front cover, the producers cut the previous version and it wasn't Farina's preferred cut of the film.

This one will be.

Is there a street date yet, Marc?

Hmmm.... I wonder if it's gonna be identical to that tape Mr. Farina made for me 12 years ago when I did an interview with him for a danish fanzine?
He was kind enough to make me a tape containing Baba Yaga, They've Changed Faces and some of his commercials!!  ;)

Did he say anything about LA NOTTE DEI FIORI which he worked on as assistant director?
