Released at the end of last year on DVD by Severin, this unique entry is not too popular with genre fans as it never really plays the Giallo tune.

An opening murder seems to tell us who the killer is, and who the victim is - but as the film progresses it seems that we might not know who either of them are...

Pretty weird, and quite slow to get started, this takes some getting used to - but if you enjoy your Euro-cult films with a fair dose of weird then you will probably want to check this one out.

Freshly reviewed: In the Folds of the Flesh.

If anyone wants my Severin edition, I'll trade it for something else.

This didn't do much for me.  The brother character took me out of the scenario completely.  Oh well.

And my offer still stands. :)

  • Aarrgghh!

Watched this last night. After the first hour or so I was thinking, 'I really don't see what's confusing about this; it all seems fairly straight-forward.'

Then I watched the last twenty minutes and it fucked my brain.

Enjoyed it though.

I finished watching this movie today.  What starts out as a seemingly standard 'dysfunctional family unit kills any stray individual that wanders into their domain' type of story turns completely inside out by the end.  I've heard of twists and turns, but this is more like being kicked out of an airplane without a parachute as the plot goes spinning out of control and crashes into the ground.  One of those movies that puts the 'trash' in Eurotrash.  You know when nazi deathcamp flashbacks are thrown in for no really good reason that things are gonna get strange.  It won't make my list of essential giallo films, but otherwise good for an evening's entertainment if you're feeling up for some whacked out sleaze.  Instead of stars, I think I'll rate this one by how badly one feels the need to take a shower after viewing.  By that guide I give "In the Folds of the Flesh" 3 and 1/2 showers.

This is one of my favourite films!  ::)
