Pallbearer, great to see the original Sartana movie amongst your favourites. ;)

I've been in a dispute with Hunchback for many moons who claims that LIGHT THE FUSE...SARTANA IS COMING is the best in the series.  :)

BTW how are you with understanding the complex plot in IF YOU MEET SARTANA PRAY FOR YOUR DEATH?   >:(

These are my faves... pretty much in this order except for the first two, which are about the same.

The Great Silence
Once Upon A Time in The West
The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly
Duck, You Sucker
For A Few Dollars More
Django
The Hellbenders
My Name is Nobody
A Pistol for Ringo
Death Rides a Horse
Day of Anger
If You Meet Sartana, Pray For Your Death
Light the Fuse, Sartana's Coming
Have A Good Funeral, My Friend, Sartana Will Pay
Sabata
Compañeros
Matalo!

That possibly has the coolest Bruno Nicolai soundtrack.

I think my copy maybe cut because the ending is so abrupt.

But for me what makes the original  a cut above the others is the challenging plot(on another forum we went to great lengths to pull apart the plot in order to understand the movie better and i'm sure we pretty much cracked it),the gothic horror atmosphere  with Sartana as this ghostly figure.

And William Berger as  Lasky is Sartanas best ever nemesis. :)

Yes it certainly does have the best soundtrack of the series.
The film is my second favorite of the series. It has the least action of all of them but it makes up for it by displaying the most elaborate action set pieces (The lumberjack attack, the coffin shootout on horseback) and being the most comical.

My favorite is still LIGHT THE FUSE...SARTANA IS COMING.

Yeah that's a great listen. Even comes with the soundtrack for HIS NAME WAS CEMETERY which is a soundtrack I'm not crazy about save for the main theme.
I advise anybody to pick that up from MovieGoods!

I think that may possibly be Carmineos best western. :P

Theres not that much between this and HAVE A GOOD FUNERAL but the brilliant opening sequence, church organ cannon and of course Alfie the robot clinch it for me.

I AM SARTANA YOUR ANGEL OF DEATH is the least impressive, but i'd sure like to see a decent widescreen print of the George Hilton entry.

No doubt! ;)

The Hilton outing was the first one I saw and holds a special place in my heart because of it.
It's never boring it just suffers from having the smallest budget of the whole series (I don't even think Hilton pulls out on gadget during the show! The whole gimick this time is "where will he hide his pea-shooter next?").
My favorite part is the opening 25 minutes though. It's like a mini-movie before the actual film starts.

Just remembered Charles Southwood as Sabbath,A FISTFUL OF LEAD's main failing and the soundtrack ain't that great either. >:(

THEY CALL ME HALLELUJAH is my favourite Carmineo/Hilton western :) which again suffers from Southwood as the ridiculous Russian prince.

I didn't have a problem with Southwood's waspy portrayal of, Sartana's rival, Sabbath. Thought he was one of the best things about the movie and their final showdown is pure brilliance on Carnimeo's part ;) a shame it was all staged ???

I might just give this another spin to remind myself of that showdown. :D

Not true. I have a dupe of the Unicorn Video release. My friend's friend in South Africa has the 35mm reels of TRADE YOUR PISTOL...as well as SARTANA KILLS THEM ALL. Didn't care much for TRADE YOUR PISTOL...
