You've really got to let that go. A) holding a grudge is bad for the soul and B) Arrow are shaping into easily the best film distributor in this country now they have this James White guy doing the transfers.

I haven't seen it for years. Last time was probably on TV in the 80's.

Yeah, I thought you'd say that. But while it may have been easy to boycott Arrow when they were shit, it's only going to become increasingly annoying with every great title they get.

RARO Blu-Ray

As independent distributors it's increasingly difficult to take risks with new titles so what we've all decided to do is re-release the same film twenty times over, across the globe, because we are confident that by releasing the same film twenty times over all the real fans will dedicate an entire shelf to just one film. Great, eh? We'll be cross-coordinating matching spines soon so once you have all 20 releases they'll look just dapper all lined up.

But we do sometimes take risks, I mean, when we sat down and really thought about what was still unreleased on DVD... no scratch that, fuckin' blu-ray... we really had to call in the experts, we looked at all the gialli, all the eurocrime, all the horror films that had never seen the light of day and then decided, once we'd smoked enough crack, that THIS! was the title everyone wanted to see...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eagles-Over-London-Blu-ray-Import/dp/B0026LYMG4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1375799775&sr=8-3&keywords=eagles+over+london

...but nobody bought it, shame on you.

So we dug deeper into the archives, we really looked deep this time and we even found a giallo... We were confident that with our expertise and viewing knowledge that THIS! was the giallo everyone was screaming out for...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Girl-Room-DVD-Region-NTSC/dp/B006P4GHWA/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1375799965&sr=1-1&keywords=the+girl+in+room+2a

I mean, the director is an American, how much more Italian can you get?

But nobody bought them, and shame on the fans for not supporting us.

That's why we're giving you all digital release number sixteen of Nightmare City - because you deserve the very best.

I hope Arrow get around to releasing Four Flies on Grey Velvet next, that's only had about 7 digital releases, they could do a multi-disc set with the same film repeated on ten discs to top the 16 releases of Nightmare City.

Thanks for the update DjangoLi, can't wait to buy them all!

Great news by the way, an extra 1 second of boat footage has been discovered in the opening shot of Zombie Flesh Eaters! The additional one second shows a brief glimpse of a seagull flying behind the mast. There are whispers of a triple disc Blu Ray re-release to celebrate this incredible find. Apparently there have been some industry heavyweights gathered for the commentary track to discuss the seagull at great length.

I'm shocked BU haven't already put a Blu of Nightmare City out as they seem to re-releasing all their catalogue titles on Blu. We do all realise of course that Raro's and Arrows discs will probably arrive within a few months of each other, then it'll be the task of deciding which version to get. I suppose in these economic times it makes sense for companies to release titles that already have HD masters or are in the process of having HD masters. I wonder if the rights holders charge more for HD releases?

So Arrow have announced a shitload of new titles on FB, but sadly no new Bava releases. The one I personally want the most after Kill Baby Kill and Blood and Black Lace is The Whip and the Body, especially since the Kino disc is supposed to be too dark in the color department. I was reading in threads on other forums and somewhere, probably on Latarnia, I saw mentioned that Arrow somewhere were supposed to have said that they aren't releasing this particular Bava film due to rights issues. Anybody here know where they might have said this? Last I heard they were going to release all of Bava's films.

I belive Arrows intention is to release every Bava film they can, that been said certain titles are owned by other companies. Danager - Diabolik and Hatchet are two that they won't be releasing, personally I'm waiting for The Girl Who Knew Too Much.

Then I'll be snatching up Kino's Hatchet for the Honeymoon for sure, but what version of The Whip and the Body is better all things considered? Kino's bluray with a subtitled italian language track (anybody here seen it in person?) or the italian DVD, which is supposed to be more color accurate but lacks subs for the italian track and, obviously, isn't HD. Decisions...

I don't have the Kino blu-ray of "The Whip and the Body", but the screenshots I've seen aren't very promising.  There's a custom job floating around that marries the English subtitles from the otherwise inferior VCI region 1 DVD to the beautiful looking EMS region 2 DVD.
