  • Leonardo Tanzi is the Don!

A Nazi doctor who experimented on and abused young boys before he killed them has been living in Spain, after doing something to a boy in Spain he decides to commit suicide but was unsuccessful and ends up paralyzed from the neck down and needs an Iron Lung to breathe. Someone comes along to be his carer but help him relive his memories of killing children.

Well made but the subject matter is quite disturbing. Luckily it's not graphic but it doesn't need to be.

I seem to remember this being pretty hard to get hold of back in the day, people were worried about having it seized by customs (or even worse). I have the dvd but don't feel the need to upgrade.

Watched the blu-ray the other night... A tough, powerful film and beautifully made. Need to see the short films included on the disc soon

The R1 DVD I have doesn't look very good.
My impression was that the film itself was under-exposed leaving muddy dark tones instead of black.
If this is true a BD wouldn't help.

Hi, I'm from Spain and I really like this movie.
In Spain was edited in DVD in a spacial edition with two DVDs by Filmax. With Spanish and Italian audios and Spanish subtitles.

Starring Marisa Paredes, a regular in Pedro Almodovar's movies: THE FLOWER OF MY SECRET/LA FLOR DE MI SECRETO (1995), ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER/TODO SOBRE MI MADRE (1999), HIGH HEELS/TACONES LEJANOS (1991), THE SKIN I LIVE IN/LA PIEL QUE HABITO (2011)...

Another interesting movies by Agustí Villaronga are: MOON CHILD/EL NIÑO DE LA LUNA (1989), 99.9 (1997), ARO TOLBUKHIN/ARO TOLBUKHIN: EN LA MENTE DEL ASESINO (2002), THE SEA/EL MAR (2000), BLACK BREAD/PAN NEGRO (2010)...
