Does anyone have or even ever heard of El espectro del terror 1973 (Directed by Jose Maria Elorietta)? I read about this Spanish horror film in a horror book many years ago. I don't think there was an English dubbed version.

That is a cursed film, I'm from Spain and been looking for it since 15 years ago and no way... At Filmoteca de Madrid there's a 35 mm copy but in very bad conditions... I'm desperate for getting this film...

Jose, that's good that it exists! What's so bad about it, loads of scratches? From what I read it sounds like a good film. Someone should put it on DVD. Elorietta's vampire films were good.

That's right, loads of scratches and blank spaces as if image was erased...A total mess, I left the place very ungry... Keep searching but for the moment the matter is very complicated...

I was recently reading on another forum a rumour about an English language 8mm print of this one.Does anyone know anything about it or can confirm its existence even if it's just from old adverts in trade catalogues,magazines etc?Thanks.

Finally got to see this obscure Spanish horror film. I have 2 questions: 1) Since it was only about 60 minutes, why is that and what is missing (it should be about 81 minutes) and 2) There was this annoying interference throughout the picture, especially during dark sequences and with the color red, anyone know why?

That's strange.Any idea where your copy originates from?
My dvdr of the Spanish sat tv broadcast runs for just over 73 minutes and has excellent picture quality throughout.

I got this from CG. It runs about 60 minutes, then some B&W Spanish film starts and lasts about 13 minutes (almost like it was taped over). Looks like it's digital but has some type of interference. Can someone help me out? Maybe I can help too as I've got a huge collection.

Note that that "EL ESPECTRO DEL TERROR" title is new, slightly different from "Films Internacionales, S.A. Presenta" font. Original titles are missing from this copy (Spanish TV broadcast).

I grabbed that file as well and could not play it past 60 min ( although it is longer ).
It looks like you are watching through a screen throughout...
sometimes it's far more noticable depending on the darkness of a given scene.
I almost felt like whomever circutated that copy intentionally trashed it.  It's at CG and a few other places ( same rip ).
