There's also an excellent looking English language HD broadcast of this doing the rounds too. DVD quality to my eyes.

This is great news! Will defiantly screen this if quality is acceptable...
Agree with all on this board - the film really needs bigger exposure.

How does it fare against the DVD version quality wise?

Un Tranquillo Posto di Campagna is an exceptional film. I like it a lot. It deserves a better exposure.

It's an interesting movie sure enough, but somehow I found it extremely difficult to keep up attention. Honestly I got bored again and again while watching it. perhaps it's because of the movie's strange tone - it's a mixture of comedy and horror that somehow keeps you at a distance rather than drawing you in.
I had the same problem watching Petri's "Indagine su un cittadino al di sopra di ogni sospetto" - nice to look at, but impossible to follow. "La decima vittima" is slightly confused, too, but at least it managed to really grip my attention throughout.

Just wanted to say – mine arrived yesterday. Haven’t had a chance to open it yet but can confirm the following:

It’s 100% legit, MGM disc distributed by 20th century Fox.
Packaging states 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen
English and Spanish audio tracks.
Very, very pleased to have this.

The Spanish site DVDgo has it for sale here -

http://www.dvdgo.com/dvd-un-lugar-tranquilo-en-el-campo-dvd/1814488/155683

I've never used them but the reports I've heard about their service have always been pretty good.

I tried ordering from there, but they don't seem to have the United States as a country option in the checkout menu.  Where else can the Spanish DVD be found?

I bought mine on eBay, Gary. Seller called Deokart. Not the cheapest prices but always reliable.

He won't ship to the U.S. unfortunately.  There was one more listed on ebay, but he also won't ship to the U.S. for some reason.

There's just so much anti-US sentiment.  :-\

Do DVDGo not ship to the US, Gary?
