Watched the NEW disc of this the other night and was very impressed with the film. Fulci must of had a few quid to spend as the sets look magnificent and the production values are great. The scene near the start in front of the Castel Sant Angelo that reappears at the end looks stunning. How did they do that set? Was it a matte painting of the castle?

Despite Tomas Milian being dressed in a codpiece for a lot of the film the cast were great and I got totally immersed in the plot.

Great release from NEW  ;)  ;)  ;) The best dvd i've seen from 2007 so far. Keep up the great work!!!  ;)

Anyone know much about the film Nachtblende/That Most Important Thing: Love, which NEW have a trailer for on the disc. I'm tempted to check it out as it looks pretty interesting. Testi and Kinski! Anyone seen it?

Finally viewed the NEW DVD.. and wow, this movie is brutal for 1969, such a grim atmosphere through the whole thing. Found it confusing at first, trying to work out who they were talking about and the structure of the scenes, but by the end it was amazing. Just the effort they went to to make this look as authentic as possible, Fulci keeps surprising me.

Nah I got it over 2 years ago.. not sure what the quality is like but you can still get the movie in a double with Whip and the Body ..

BEATRICE CENCI is a rip of the NEW disc with a new title card and WHIP is a rip of the EMS disc.
