NEW did the re-release; it's a two-disc set - one of the discs is just the X-Rated disc.

I have the second release; the picture quakity is a lot better than the first, though I seem t o remember there bing a disclaimer running on the print (when played in English, with no subs) saying "only available for sale in Austria" or something.

Quite a few of the X-Rated ones do that. Just rip it to a DVDR with dvdshrink and remove the subtitle track.

I had bought the German release of DEATH CARRIES A CANE which looked like shit and I soon got rid of it. I am sure the one I had was the first one and not the re-release though. Could you guys please post screenshots of the 2nd release? thanks!

Fuck! That looks great! I think I will have to get the DVD next time I order!

EDIT: I saw the J & B bottle in the picture and I remembered a time when I was going to bars with a friend and we were ordering J & B and waiters thought we were crazy  :-\

It's a real improvement over the previous release for sure.

The only reason I had the grab on my PC was because I remember grabbing it to post it in the DVD Maniacs J&B thread...  :D

I love me some J&B, saw a big litre bottle in Tesco the other day but it was about £20! The same quantity can be had for about half that price from the duty free lounge at the airport in Rome!

Was flicking through the Crass biography earlier and Steve Ignorant said that J&B was the bands drink of choice. If it's good enough for my favourite anarchists then it's good enough for me.

The two-disc rerelease of DEATH CARRIES A CANE comes highly recommended.  The picture quality is a marked improvment over the first release.  I found it to be an entertaining, not the best but certainly not the worst.  I noticed that HKFlix currently have it in stock at quite a good price.

It is PAL and can be found in stock here http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmID.537892/qx/details.htm.  Most places have sold out of this limited set.
