Lady Luck has turned her back on Napoleon. The soldiers become more independent scouring the countryside to fill their bellies and their beds. Justine and Ferdinand escape to the country of Tursa and buy an Inn only to find, that all pleasures are taxed! Everything from drinking wine, smoking, sex, laughter and dancing are being taxed by the Committee of Decency so that the Count can raise money to buy the country. He also has to marry a woman of Noble blood. Justine and Ferdinand take down the Inn sign and put up a sign naming the building "The Innocent Lamb" disguised as a convent school it is actually a brothel under the watchful eyes of the local authorities. Von trenck is the true Count but he lives in Vienna. Baron Bierrechalet goes to Vienna to pursue him to come to Tursa and reclaim the country. The savvy Justine uses a series of trickery and manipulation to trap the Mayor in his own taxable behavior and Count Von trenck turns the country over to Baron Bierrechalet.

I wonder if Sinful Mermaid is related to Midnight Choir...

I'm betting they were not aware that L'ATTENZIONE had an English language video release under the English language title of its source novel THE LIE by Alberto Moravia.

They have actually recently started doing spanish movies under the Televista banner.

If it is i wonder why they dropped the "Portuguese" from it.

No, that's a Jorge Grau film with Lina Romay.  It had a Spanish DVD release so we know where that was sourced from.
