I`ve gotten a few new Trovajoli soundtracks:
IL FORNARETTO DI VENEZIA - This political thriller is set in sixteenth-century Venice, and Trovajoli`s score is in the traditional form. Some very nice melodies and powerful orchestration, just don`t expect any beat sounds.
L`ARCIDIAVLO - All I can do is echo Gary and Peter`s thoughts, it`s truly a classic. I was familiar with the first cut from Beat At Cinecitta, I`m thrilled to have the entire thing now.
LA MATRIARCA - I too got the King cd, and while the entire thing is variations on one theme I haven`t found it repetitive in the least. Another stand-out from the maestro.
7 UOMINI D`ORO Golden Box - Yes, I went all-out and bought this rather pricey set. Damn glad I did too, as this is outstanding. Beautifully packaged with a nice booklet and fold-out digi-pack. Having heard bits of the first film`s score on the compilation with the Cinedelic book, it wasn`t a real gamble. I knew this would be top notch.
