Awful bloody music. What's wrong with Fabio Frizzi?

I asked him, he seemed quite content with his teenage girl music. But he seems like a cool chappy and his store is not bad (if somewhat expensive).

Plus Amazon have just reduced the pre-order price for the Arrow Blu-Ray to £12.99.  Bargain!

City of the Living Dead (Arrow Blu-ray) - Amazon.co.uk

I'd consider it, but the extras are in PAL which makes it impossible to watch on my PS3.

Actually, from what I understand, the Arrow extras are in HD so that should not be a problem as far as I understand (EDIT: the "Fulci in the House" bit might be in PAL, I've asked Gary to confirm).

Here is the updated review with the Arrow Blu caps at DVDBeaver.

Comparison from 10K Bullets of Arrow vs. Blue underground Blu-ray discs.

Who was it that told me the Arrow one looks better?

I've already pre-ordered it, the Blue-Underground transfer looks better to me from them pics.

Gary at DVDBeaver added Blue Underground Blu caps to the existing comparison.

i guess that's what the term 'toys for boys' was coined for... lol

but a 20-page booklet on the making of that statuette? I'll opt for Arrow instead, and not only for pecuniary reasons...

Got the Arrow release in the post the other day. Had a quick gander at the picture quality and it looks great so won't be tempted to get the Blue Underground release.

By the way, it's the same person comparing the Arrow and Blue Underground releases on both 10k Bullets and DVD Beaver.

Um, nope.  I did the DVDBeaver comparison (Gary added the Arrow BluRay caps because I request Arrow send him a copy of the BluRay).  Michael Den Boer from 10K added the Blue Underground BluRay caps.

OK, thanks for confirming.

(Maybe it's just me, but if you look at the comments section, it looks like the first three paragraphs are written by Michael Den Boer, in which he compares the transfers.)

The first three paragraphs (the most recent ones) were by Den Boer.  Technically, he compared the Blue Underground BluRay to the Arrow one on his site but he added his comments and the BU caps to the existing comparison.

I was lucky enough to see this on the big screen last Saturday as part of the ongoing Grindhouse Film Festival in Portland, Oregon. It was a U.S. print bearing the "Gates of Hell" title, and it was beat to shit, but it was wonderful to see it in an actual theatre with an audience (I was too young when it first came out, although I tried - unsuccessfully - to sneak into a showing). Some of the audience reactions were priceless! Great fun.
