Just found the poster that the sales company are using to promote the project in Cannes. Check it out – looks fucking shit.

Shock Till You Drop

It's a piss-take, isn't it?

No, it's genuine. Seruiously.  :-*

that poster is just awful.

surely they could have come up with something better than this.

hopefully the film is real good as dario is the director.

some of his recent efforts have not been exactly great.

M O T was one of his better recent efforts.

he will sady never hit the heights of the seventies and eighties.

Sorry, but I'm really not stoked (pardon the pun). The story has been done countless times before and Argento's recent track record leaves more than a lot to be desired. Why on Earth did he not do FRANKENSTEIN instead? There hasn't been a decent FRANKENSTEIN film in years and his proposed retool from the 70s (which I'm pretty sure he collaborated on with Luigi Cozzi) was supposed to transpose the events of Mary Shelley's novel to Nazi Germany and sounds way more interesting that another round with the Count...

I must disagree here I'm afraid. Frankenstein has been adapted a lot in recent years, including the exquistly faithful Hallmark film Frankenstein (2004). No-one has tried making a straight Dracula film in a long time - the 1992 Gary Oldman film is probably the last attempt to adapt the original story without (too) many changes.

Not that is to say that it needs re-doing, particularly not in 3-D, a lothsome prospect if ever there was one. I think Argento in his prime could have made a very good Dracula film, although with the exception of Phantom he has not done any period horror work and I think an updating of the story might have been more fitting to his talents.

I'd like to think so but I seriously doubt it.

Just so I haven't got this wrong...

Dario Argento is remaking Dracula in 3D and it's being financed by Bruno Mattei's (RIP) former producer?

How can it possibly fail?!
