Between this and MAN OF VIOLENCE, I'm going to have to pick up a BluRay player sooner rather than later...

Same here. Might have to seriously think about investing after Christmas.

I got mine on Thursday and I have to say that it really looks good.  Blue Underground are certainly delivering on the Blu-Ray front.  There is so much detail in the image and the Lake District setting looks fantastic.

You're going to need a new telly too.....

The things we do for these films.  ::)

It's an investment, for sure, but it's totally worth it. Watching films in HD is most cases is like watching them for the first time, and the closest we have to a theatrical experience in the comfort of our houses.
I'm continually impressed with what I see on this format, especially with older films. I think I had a silly smile during the whole time while I watched Blake Edwards' The Pink Panther on BD, it looks absolutely wonderful.  8)

Agreed, in some cases it is like watching the film for first time as you notice so much extra detail.

What sells it to me is shots like the ones below where you can see details like the contact lenses or the writing on the tomb in the background...

I watched my copy earlier this week and the blu-ray image is gorgeous.  The 7.1 DTS-HD audio sounds great, too.  Also has the original English mono.

You can say that again!
I watched it last night, and I must say it looks even better than my most positive expectations. I never watched Blue Underground's DVD release, but compared to my older Anchor Bay UK DVD (which I considered very good) it's a drastic improvement. It was always a film I enjoyed visually, but I still said "wow" to myself when the film started. For me it's one of the most impressive transfers for a genre film currently available on BD.

To think a few years back the film was unknown to lots of people and quite difficult to track down in a visually decent shape, and now first with the older DVD release and then with these recent Blue Underground BD and DVD releases we have the film so easily available, with worthwhile extras and an image quality as lovely as this. It's an essential BD release for anyone that remotely enjoys the film.
