Tomorrow (19th March 2011), Hardware and Dust Devil director will be doing a signing at Movies 2000 (little cult shop in Paris) with composer Boswell, known for scoring Italian TV movies and of course the two films mentioned above.

I'm in the right mind to go but it is at the other side of the city though and I'm not exactly a mega fan. I could bring my HW and DD dvds and I have a Boswell LP from his Bava TV movies. I guess my Phenomena dvd too. What you think? Should I go? I expect i'll need to pay for the signings too...

For a split second I thought you'd written "Richard Stanley and Simon Boswell singing in Paris" - that may have been worth seeing, especially if Stanley was dressed in his usual Dust Devil get-up  :-\

If this were happening in London I'd go for sure, mate.

Haha, that would be funny!

I may give Hardware a spin tonight to refresh the old noggin.
Yeah it'll only take around 35 minutes on the metro, so I really don't have an excuse.

I went!

Watched Hardware on a dark and dingy "Red Edition" DVD yesterday morning. First time seeing it since 2004/5, great movie, reminds me of the old 90s tie in novels of Aliens or something along the lines - very cyber-punk.

The shop, Movies 2000, is awesome! Tons of goodies in there but I am a little hard of cash, so I deliberately didn't have a look around as I would have spent a ton! Not sure if the shop owner was too happy though!
Anyway, I was there 20 mins tops, and chatted away to them. Extremely nice guys, Stanley lives in southern France quite near Toulouse! He mentioned he was finishing a short in the Pyrénées. He seemed like a completely normal guy who loves film. Boswell is still working away but doubts he'll work with Argento again (last time was in 2006 for his last CD).

I literally had them to myself for 15 mins! Usually at festivals etc there are so many fans, you get 5 mins...
They were impressed by the vinyl I took in for signing, anyway, here is what I got signed (I bought a photo and Boswell's latest CD with Argento and Ewan McGregor as guests):

Here's the track with Argento:

They had Santa Sangre and Hardware on Severin DVD, but sadly not on Blu, so I passed on those.
I left the shop well chuffed and then realised I had forgotten to take a photo! So I went back in and they were more than happy to do that:

Jonny, notice the yellow t shirt...

Update on Madmovies website.

Some chap talking about Stanley etc, however yours truly can be seen around the 38 seconds mark getting things signed. I'm famous-ish.  :-*
