Well at least Lenzi (like many of his colleagues) is somebody who has achieved a lot in his life through making these movies. I am sure he had a great and interesting life and also has a huge cult following. I think he deserves some respect for that fact alone. He doesn't give a shit about the negative things that some nobody has to say. Come on, everybody trashes his movies but they all have them in their collection!

And considering the limitations he had to work with on many of his films, he turned out some damn fine pictures. I don't think he necessarily wanted to churn out classy movies but deliver the goods in whatever genre he happened to be dabbling in at the time.

I love that cheesy disco track when the zombies go after the models. Genius.
It's on the Cipriani cd that's included in the Luciano Ercoli boxset on NoShame :'(

Damn - I've not eaven listened to that CD and to be honest, completely forgot that I had it!

How can anyone not like this movie is simply beyond me. Umberto is a fun guy and his commentary has to be heard to be believed. Wonderful stuff.

I can't say I've seen a Lenzi film I've not enjoyed, mate. They're great fun and that is what cinema is all about - well, when you're not stroking your beard and watching an Antonioni film, anyway  :-\

I've got a brand new sealed Vipco DVD of Lenzi's 'The House of Witchcraft' sat in front of me.

Anyone seen this one?

Out of that HOUSE OF DOOM series that Lenzi and Fulci made, I've only seen HOUSE OF CLOCKS and I was suprised by how much I enjoyed that.

It certainly has aged well. I guess on its initial VHS run people were more interested in "serious" zombie movies. Nowadays, it's mcu "easier" to simply lay back and have some fun with it ::)

I love that score. The theme of the zombies attacking would be ace as a "ringing melody" for my mobile ;D

I think Lenzi was being so dishonest when he described his zombies as vampires. Ok technically vampires but they are so within zombie genre and away from vampire genre that he may as well have fessed up and said that yes this is a zombie film.

On a different note, the playful dog in the city seige scene.  Me and my wife were discussing whether this could count as an error or not.  I maintain that yes this is a goof where my wife pointed out that the zompires may not be a threat to the dog so he was entitled to be there, and that a zompire seige may be fun for the puppy.
