Cannibal Holocaust (Ruggero Deodato, 1980)

DVDBeaver comparison of CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST

Interesting, there's nothing in the grabs taken from the Shameless DVD that would make me buy it as regards the transfer. I actually prefer the lesser quality grading on the 16mm footage that you get on the Grindhouse DVD.

Looking forward to seeing some full size Blu-ray grabs though, I'll likely pick that up at some point (when it's less than a tenner) out of sheer curiosity for the 'revised' edit of the film and the extras.

Blu-ray review is up...

I wonder why the Italian audio and English subtitles were missed off the Blu-ray? They're on the DVD...  ???

I repeat here what I said at cult-labs forum: the omission of Italian audio (and English subtitles) on Blu-ray is inexcusable for me  :-[.

Pity to hear about the lack of Italian audio, it is a main selling point for me normally.

If only they had waited a month they could have seen the Conan Blu-ray with its censor defying language settings and perhaps released CH in the same way...

Is the U.K. Conan uncut if you choose a foreign option then?

Wouldn't have happened.  CONAN is owned by Universal worldwide so they've done one Blu-Ray and tweaked the region settings and made the cuts using branching (likely).  Shameless only have the UK rights to CH.

WRONG! It's owned by 20th Century Fox here in the UK and has been since the early 1990s. It's never been a Universal title here - was released on rental by Thorn/EMI and sell-thru VHS by Warner Home Video before the Fox releases.  :D

So have they intentionally left off the italian audio or is it a mistake with the pressing,if it was intentional its puzzling???

I saw that in FNAC yesterday, terrible cover. I'm quite happy with my uncut French DVD.

Better than the U.K. blu cover though.
