PANORAMA CINEMA Vies et morts du Giallo
« on: 19 Feb 2012 - 10:15 »

I just ordered this book. It's a collective work from a Canadian magazine:

http://voir.ca/livres/2011/08/18/alexandre-fontaine-rousseau-vies-et-morts-du-giallo-de-1963-a-aujourdhui/

It's seems to be quite heavy, with more than 500 pages. I don't know what to expect... I'll post a review when I get it.

I read it and found it very good.

It's a thick, pocket format, book full of articles, reviews, studies and interviews. The kind of book you don't read from front to back, but browse freely: from a review of "Who Saw Her Die?", to an interview of Sergio Martino or an article about Mario Bava.

A few analysis are a bit artificial (some critics try to see things that are simply not there) or inacurate (the genesis of the Giallo, especially), but overall this a excellent book. A collective work of passionate and educated people. One of the most complete and interesting study of the genre I read.

I highly recommend it, for those who can read French...
