The reason this title is going ahead is that they have done work on it already.this was announced as coming soon in 2009.Im looking forward to it,it just seems an awful lot of money. Like i said in the other thread, john lyons in the USA is raising money via kickstarter,he needs $10,000 to license, restore and release the three (previously) lost h.g.lewis films. I have heard stories about italian licensors being greddy but jeez thats a lot. If anybody is interested in the h.g.lewis restoration check it out

Neither are coming out. They want to release Argoman instead

Maybe I should split off and merge all the off topic posts with the Argoman thread?

Or a Dorado films topic?

Anyway, it's sad that Dorado hold rights for such great films and don't seem to have a clue on how to handle them. I really like Oli's Kickstarter idea, but if Dorado decide to do it the way they've outlined in in their blog, we're not going to get to see any of the crime titles at all. I really can't see Argoman making the $4000 target. Argoman is a niche title among niche titles and it really doesn't give you a poor indication on how the crime titles would sell. It's like releasing a metal album to test the waters for an upcoming hip-hop release. Couldn't they at least chose High Crime as the Kickstarter project since it wasn't one of the titles mentioned for the box set anyway?

They're actually looking for $40,000!

A crazy amount of money. You can get a good HD transfer with full grade done for under 10K if you shop around. DVD and BD authoring can be found for under a grand too.

Makes you wonder if they know anything about the industry at all, eh?  :-* :-\

Hmm i asked Blue Underground a few years back if they plan on releasing "HIGH CRIME", they replied "we would love to, if we had the rights".

DORADO should sell the rights to BU and with the money finance some bits of ARGOMAN and/or the Merli Box-Set !?

Dorado has a lot of rights but territories are split on many with Studio Canal. In addition to this, Studio Canal hold the film element materials.
