Before I discovered CDJapan in 2003, I was paying around $60-$80 a pop for Japanese releases from American eBay  sellers.

Did you pick these up?

The Blu-rays? No, I don't think I own one Japanese Blu-ray. I certainly don't have anything like the amount of money I used to throw on collecting films, either! Recent example? Aarron mentioned that he had seen Experiment in Terror via the recently released Twilight Time Blu-ray. I went and bought a secondhand DVD for a fiver from CEX!

It looks like the ones already out elsewhere on Blu are 1080p and the ones that are getting a debut on Blu are 1080i.

The Great Silence doesn't get a favourable review.

Shame but glad I held off. I'll stick with my Eureka DVD until a decent upgrade materialises.

Troy Howarth mentioned it looking no better than upscaled DVD on Facebook the other day.

It never ceases to surprise me that for a country that's on the cutting edge of technology, its film distributors are consistently shoddy. There was a time, fairly late in the day, when the majority of back catalogue DVDs were non-anamorphic.

I'm not concerned about the ones that are already out elsewhere (unless they look better but I doubt it) but would like to know how the Gemma's are.

Yes, and Troy rarely gives a negative review when it comes to BDs.

The packaging is something else but my god it's a poor print. Anyone that is waiting for it will feel slightly pissed off when it comes
