Sorry guys but this was absolute tripe. An hour or so of weak set up with awful, awful acting and dialogue followed by a rushed third act of throwing in references to his much better films. Very let down by this and I LOVE De Palma. I don't see it as a return to form at all.
i thought it was great fun and there's always been an element of melodrama in De Palma's thrillers and this was no different. Definitely ticked all the right boxes for me.

There were moments where I expected him to turn a corner but it just didn't do anything for me sadly. As I said in the third act I felt he just smushed lots of references to previous work in. Also Noomi Rapace, what's the beef? She is fucking terrible in everything I have seen her in

It looks like I've got to wait until August 1st to see this in the States (via On Demand).  I love De Palma's classic mystery thrillers, so I'm looking forward to it.

I think you meant "where's" the beef.   ;D  I kind of have to agree here.  She seems to have gained international recognition and momentum after the whole Girl with the... trilogy thing, but I haven't found any of her work since to be anything special.
