That's a great book, BTW, if a little overboard on porn related films, but a great read just the same. Didn't know it was OOP.

Unfortunatley so, which is why someone is selling it used for £58 on amazon.co.uk!!!!! Apart from Bava and Hammer there's very few books I would pay that for

I missed out on it years ago and just happened to see it last night. It said it was a new copy. The more recent Corman book is HIGHLY entertaining.

These new Brit horror books are excellent! Especially the Hammer books on the Bray and Elstree years. Haven't gotten the Bray one yet, but what I like about these is that they thankfully don't recap the films for you instead detail the entire production even printing notes from the BBFC regarding cuts. Over 700 pics are here with almost all of them behind the scenes many showcasing bits not in the finished versions!

This is goldmine of a thread, thanks to all for posting, I've got a few things to investigate over the next few weeks....I posted my book list over at the DVD Forums a few months back...they have a sticky thread running there like this thread (A Book At Bedtime, located in the Classic Cinema and DVD Forum) If anyone has a membership on that forum it might be worth checking out my post (on page 2 of the thread, 3rd post from top) because each one is linked to Amazon...handy for browsing....Anyway, here's the list, unlinked, and about 80% up to date...Sadly I could not find the cash for the Bava book !

Nice list Red Skeleton. Wish I'd picked up ZOMBIES ATE PITTSBURGH, SAVAGE CINEMA OF RD and the SEE NO EVIL book when I had the chance. I tried ordering the SEE NO EVIL twice but both times the stores couldn't obtain a copy.

Do try to track a copy of SEE NO EVIL down Commissario, it's a fine read - the centrepiece of the book is a synopsis and review of each nasty (including the not-always-mentioned Cut Throats Nine), and has interesting chapters on the rise of VHS, and the clampdown in the UK in the mid 80's....this part of the book is especially interesting for me, cos I'm living in Ireland there was little hysteria here about the nasties....to my knowledge tapes, rather than being removed from the shelves, simply dried up when supply from the UK fizzled out....

I've got way too much stuff to list here - it would take me all day!

Most fanzines etc going back to the early 1980s (Shock Xpress etc), stuff from all over the world, books mags, zines.

I loved Shock Xpress....I thought Stefan Jaworzyn's introductions for every issue were priceless...He also played guitar in one of my favoutire bands, Skullflower...The Shock Express books were great too...the second volume has a fantastic piece on the Scala cinema - I must have read that piece a hundred times, soaking up the movies named-dropped in it...

Maybe someone might be able to answer this question...In '93 I picked up a fanzine called The Best of Video Horror (Media Publications) a compendium of some 450 reviews of pre-cert horror. There were a number of contributors, some of them who went on to other things like John Hill (who did the short lived Monstroid), David Flint (Headpress) and Adrian Smith (who did Delirium) but one that always stuck out for me was someone known as The Horror Consultant...he had a great style...of the million reviews of Cannibal Ferox I read over the years, his one I always remember....Does anyone know who the enigmatic Horror Consultant was ? Is he still around today ??

I've still got a load of those Media Scene A5 sized magazines back in London which were catalogues put out by Media Publications back in the 1990's and also had reviews, articles etc.Trevor Barley used to give them out free at film fairs back then.

Surprised no one has mentioned this excellent cult movie magazine database:
