Maestro Armando Trovajoli sadly passed away a very few days ago at the age of 95 years.
Only today the piece of news was given by his wife: "Till today I've been respecting a will of a discreet man, who didn't like to show off or to get clappings".
Trovajoli was born at Rome on September, 2, 1917. "He has been working till the last day, - his wife says - his last comedy, a music transposition for theater of Tosca by Luigi Magni, is still on his piano". During his very long career he has been playing with the best jazzmen in the world (Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Stephan Grappelli, Django Reinhardt and others). Then, in addition to jazz, he devoted himself to movies (signing, amongst the other ones, the soundtracks for Riso amaro, Un giorno in pretura, La ciociara, C'eravamo tanto amati, Profumo di donna, Una giornata particolare) and to musical comedy.
