Scalarama & lovelockandload presents Giallo-Rama! 28th September - Manchester

Pencil it in your diaries folks! I've booked the venue and I am in the process of securing permission to screen the two films (digital sadly but that's all we can do at this point)

Price and full schedule is to be confirmed but I'm planning on having 2 films with a trailer break in between plus an after-show 'party' with DJs playing soundtracks etc

The day should run from 4pm until about 10pm and will be held at The Small Cinema in Moston

I've also applied to have this as part of the SCALARAMA event, application is pending so I'll get back to you on that...

Whilst I can't make it up to Manchester (lack of funds and baby care responsibilities prohibit it for now) I'd love to know how one goes about organising an event like this? It is a small life ambition of my own to programme a night of genre films at a local cinema and I think your pricing (and fantastic after screening activities) sound more than reasonable.

I wish you every success and would be keen to be part of any similar event closer to the middle of the country :)

Where are you based? I was lucky to stumble on a centre that required help and ended up programming films at their cinema. All down to research and an idea of your audience. I spent six months planning my first event. If you want any help drop me a PM.

This is the day after my 30th   :)

Sounds really cool,pity it isn't the weekend before,when the Manchester Festival Of Fantastic Films is on,that would save me from being in the position of contemplating travelling up to Manchester two weekends in a row  ;D

Man, if I wasn't 1000 miles away I'd be there... I hope it goes well, regardless of the lack of free cocaine and young girls. Now if it was pills, ganja, and ketamine I'd have be there like a shot! (yeah, I'm cheap, but of course then you'd be fishing my mangled body out of the bins round the back of the cinema  ::) )

If it's a digital screening, and you're playing DVD's, I'd be more than happy to offer up some exclusive free fansubs for anything you've got planned so you could also look at what's out on DVD in Italy... Although events like this would probably benefit from the wonky English dubs that tend to have audiences pissing themselves with laughter the moment anyone opens their mouth (from experience!)  After all, it's not easy reading subs when you're plastered, let's be honest!

Still, the offer is always there if you want, now or anytime in the future.

Via the booking agent, it's the easiest way to keep track of the transactions. If it was left to doing it through me I'd end up spending it.
