Do these projects like this ever get off the ground for Euro stuff though?

I only noticed once I posted that it's for a kickstarter  :-* I couldn't find a thread about the film regardless.

Great film, pretty under rated IMO..I wouldn't call it "lost" though. Having said that, 15 grand? Be lucky if 15,000 people have even seen it..

I did hear that they were suddenly told they would not have access to the English dub and would have to create a new one from scratch; so this might not happen.  But I'm fucked if I can find that link again.

I still have my Fletcher VHS of this. It'll be good to see this in better quality. If it does go ahead.

What do they mean make one from scratch? Record a new track with new actors? Surely they can just use the track from an old video tape?

Not allowed to use the English dub. Have to create a new one. Can't find the link though.

Create a new one? This could end up being like ZOMBIE 90!

The label's owner is a US high school student and has a reputation for some shoddy business practices. The limited edition DVD, which was quoted as being from the negatives when it was a apparently an NTSC conversion of the Scandinavian DVD. His label has also released some public domain films, though some of their titles are above board.

The VHS version i have is called Guardians of the Deep. Think its one of those post certs from the 80s that used the same print as the Fletcher pre cert. Its a pretty flat film that is more of a hidden money caper than a film about Sharks. As for Retrovision they are on a level with Dorado films it seems.
