NoShame are re-launching in the US with a batch of new titles.  :D
That's great news, let's hope they release some of the crime films that were released in Italy without any English language or subtitle options.

Exactly, their release of Martino's SILENT ACTION also had 2 great documentaries as extras including a 1 hour special on Tomas Milian plus they also put out  MILANO VIOLENTA,ONE JUST MAN and ROMA A MANO ARMATA.

Rumours say that they're working on an R1 release of Torso...  :-*
Do we really need another release of this?I'm sure there are plenty of other titles from the Martino/Dania catalogue they could choose instead as this has had at least 6 releases now, anyone not seen it yet or got a copy? :-\

That's great.  It's cool to hear they will be back on track. ;)

If they release A White Veil for Mariele I would be REAL happy.

Rumors of Torso huh?

Why bother...

Here's a little something I wrote on the DVD maniacs board recently.... I stumbled upon a MySpace page and the guy claims that he's working on a documentary called BLOODY RUSTY SAW - THE MAKING OF TORSO for the NoShame R1 DVD release (which according to him was supposed to be out in January). Here's some info from his page:

"The Documentary will feature all brand new interviews with director Sergio Martino, the DP Giancarlo Ferrando (The strange Vice of Mrs.Wardh, Your Vice is a locked room and only I have the key), the assist. dir. Michele Massimo Tarantini (A Man Called Magnum, Violent Cops, Taxi Girl), stars Luc Merenda (Hostel part II, Violent Professionals, Kydnap Syndacate, Il poliziotto è marcio, Gambling City, The Last Round, Red Sun), Vincenzo Crocitti (Un borghese piccolo piccolo), and so on... The score of the documentary has been composed by BUDY (aka Roberto Donati, composer of the cult classics CANNIBAL FEROX, EATEN ALIVE). "

Now there's also some more activity from their Italian branch. In March they will release Dark Waters and a box with three Spanish horror films - unfortunately Italian language only...

That DARK WATERS came out here in a 3 disc set not long back. I think that was the last thing they put out here.

They're trying to make a comeback by releasing TORSO?  Aren't there enough DVDs of this out already?

In fairness they are releasing it in the US and the Anchor Bay disc has been OOP for a while now.

True, but there is no real 'definitive' DVD edition of this film. ABUS had incorrect opening titles, Shameless had a botched English soundtrack...

If the NoShame DVD has optional English/Italian language tracks with subs plus the extras already mentioned then I'm buying it for sure.

Good points Jonny. I'd like to support them again. And I guess I'd jump for this if what you mentioned was included.

Still, I hope they go for films that haven't been released anywhere.

Don't get me wrong, I'd probably double dip for this one too, I just think a fresh title would sell better.  Plus I'd rather buy something new to DVD than just upgrade everything I already have.

One of these will be Grau's marvellous LEGEND OF BLOOD CASTLE (Ceremonia sangrienta) which needs an English language dvd asap whlst the other 2 are BLOODSPATTERED BRIDE and JM Elorrieta's CURSE OF THE VAMPYR,not a bad little package.
