I read about this earlier. Having Lenzi as a producer on board sounds promising, and he might put the project in the right direction (if it happens). I was happy to see that practical effects will be used a lot more.

The thing is with Tom's last "give me your $$$$" project, it died off and he they ran off with what they had donated. I won't be donating!

Surely there is enough money in a Savini helmed zombie film for them to take a traditional funding route, unless they are really not sure about this project.

Savini is a hack director and remaking a godawful movie people enjoy solely because it is so mind bendingly awful is simply a terrible idea. And if the last crowdfunders did not get their cash back when it failed then backers are just paying his rent for him.
