Every serious genre fan is region-free and has the right setup for being able to view both PAL & NTSC systems... The fact that some people are into these films and have no idea about that stuff makes me wonder  :o

PHANTOM OF DEATH will be a great title to gage demand, mate. To my knowledge, I don;t think either the Spanish or German releases have appeared on Amazon, so this could be a contender for a lot of sales from their .com site.

The German Phantom of Death DVD is OOP, and I wouldn't want one of those ugly large hardboxes anyway...  :-*

I know most televisions and DVD (even VHS) players are NTSC compatible straight out of the box here in Britain, I wonder if it is the same in the US? I'd imagine so on the newer models, if only because the big firms want to save money by releasing the same televisions etc. in both territories.

First up in my sights would be Convoy Busters and Mad Dog Murderer.

Is that Convoy Busters/Highway Racer or the one No Shame released?

Sadly it's not the case with US TVs - they are NTSC only. We're lucky in Europe - Because Region 2 DVD encompasses Europe (PAL) and Japan (NTSC) all of our TVs and DVD players are compatible with both TV standards.

For Americans to watch PAL discs they mostly compromise by getting a DVD player which internally converts the PAL signal to NTSC. I'd say very few US fans are able to watch pure PAL DVDs on their TVs, unless the more diehard fans have invested in mult-system TVs.

Yeah killed the biscuit tin budget though  :-[

We'll also have an HMV ad which included the Shameless titles running in the Indy of all places on the Friday before the Monday 1st Oct.

Talking of ads it was nice to see today in DarkSide an ad for Nucleus Films' upcoming Grindhouse Trailer Classics DVD coming out very soon - I always fancied doing a trailer disc but never had the guts to see it through beyond an idea in my head so I hope it gets supported as the DVD industry in the UK is far too dull these days and we need more superb grimy exploitation out there! I hope everyone saddled up with a Death Ship DVD as well - I remember drinking most of the champagne at the Anchor Bay Christmas Curry a few years back and ranting at Marc and Jake to put Death Ship out on DVD - and keep the original artwork I shouted. Knowing now how hard it is to bring a DVD out to market good on 'em.

Right back to the Venus in Furs sleeve - I have to work out whether I can have a nipple on the front packshot if it's hidden by a sticker (so that retailers will stock it)

I can't see that being a problen, the VPRC allowed it on the 1990 reissue of the first 2 Emmanuelle films for the Braveworld releases.

I think a sticker would be fine. :D
