That was Nigel. I agree, they were dreadful, as were the fucking awful cover images.  :)

But we did release some cracking films  ::)

Some of the covers were fine (Blind Dead for one). Most were awful though.

they will be available on most sites, mate. So check Play, Amazon and the like. By the end of the week, you should be able to pre-order the November and December titles.  :D

Any thoughts on releasing any Italian Cop films Almar? Or just Gialli/Horrors?

I know I've been told before that there's no demand in the UK for the Cop films but to be honest can't think of any DVD releases so far apart from Violent City. So I wonder how anyone knows that there's no demand if no ones tried releasing them...

I know people are quick to slag Vipco off, but they released pretty decent, non-anamorphic versions of THE BIG RACKET and THE VIOLENT PROFESSIONALS - of course, the former was slightly cut at the request of the BBFC, but at least they tried!

Cop flicks would be great. I'm pretty sure any company that released SPECIAL COP IN ACTION would see a lot of units sold, as it's not been released anywhere, not even in Italy. That would be a real coup.  :D

Well yes we'd love to but the problem we always face is you take your titles to retail buyers - half of them are teenagers and they look at your stuff and go what's this crazy old shit - no one is going to buy it! So we're kicking off with horrors that people might actually have heard of (like NYR which yes will be cut but kicks open doors for the range) and if the brand works we can then start trying out other exploitation genres that haven't been tried out before in the UK as stores will then be more willing to take a risk as our other titles will have sold... or not!

First up in my sights would be Convoy Busters and Mad Dog Murderer.

these have already been released on dvd, the thing is whoever is into these films will already have them despite the region, i'm not just saying it because i want stuff released that isn't out but because it makes sense to release something that isn't already out somewhere. :-\

Ditto.

Though 'Mad Dog/Beast With A Gun' might sell a few copies in the UK, I doubt 'Convoy Busters' would though as it's not really got much to entice the casual buyer... It's a good film but not much exploitation action going on in it to really sell it to punters who are new to the genre....

What about VIOLENT ROME? This would certainly sell more than CONVOY BUSTERS. It has a very nasty reputation.

For sure it would! It'd be interesting to know what crime films Almar/Shameless has access to via the deal they currently have going.

There might not be any mate. Give the guy a chance will you!  :-*

Plus this kinda venture involves investments of tens of thousands of pounds so don't expect a DVD release of 'Roma Violenta' just 'cos you asked for it on here...  :D
