Got my copy today.. haven't been able to check it out yet.. it's got a booklet in Italian and English... it says:
"This DVD version of the film is taken from the longest available negative, an "international" version with extra matching cuts and longer sex scenes than those in the version released in Italian cinemas."
The Italian audio is apparently taken from a bad source, "old low quality master (u-matic?)..."

Sounds encouraging! Hopefully my copy will arrive soon.
What language are the main titles in Magnus?

Sounds like it could be the long version we've been hoping for. Did you check through it to see if any of the scenes missing from the German DVD are present?

Not yet, but I did notice the Oscar Wilde quote and full end credits...

Cool, at the very least it seems it will be the same as the longer UK VHS version. If it has the footage extra to the German DVD that's a nice bonus, but no big deal if it's not there.
Sounds like a winner, can't wait to get my copy!

I've been catching up with much of Dallamano's work lately (as you know, Jonny :'() so I'm really looking forward to this DVD.

Good news!
Just very quickly looked at the Raro DVD and can confirm it contains the longest cut of the film I've seen. It has the footage that was exclusive to the German DVD and also looks like it includes all the footage from the UK VHS version that was missing from the German DVD.
On top of that it has footage that wasn't in either of the previous versions, most noticably a brief pre-credits sequence of Berger talking to Richard Todd off screen just before his image is frozen and it turns into the painted credit sequence.
More info after I've watched the DVD.

That's great news! I was waiting for news on this as Raro's Terror Express was disappointing. Thanks guys.

Some grabs comparing the extra footage found only in the VHS version...
And a quick comparison between the Raro DVD (Top) and the German DVD (Bottom)

Raro have come up trumps - longest cut available and superior picture quality (too good to be true, huh?).

This time it is true! There's no catches, it really is the definitive release of this film so far.
Only downer is that the English audio could've been cleaned up a bit but compared to the awful Italian track it sounds wonderful!
Also there's no English options for the interview with Assistant Director Maurizio Tanfani.
