Glad to help out, Nanni and Michael. I got an email this morning that my copy has shipped so it looks like a good seller. Pretty quick service too (Monday was a postal holiday here). I wouldn`t be surprised if he lists new copies again at Amazon, so interested parties should check back now and then.

The little bit I know about what films you like leads me to believe you`re going to love this one Nanni. I sure did. Yet more proof that Dallamano was a major talent - as if it was needed - it`s a real shame he wasn`t around longer to make more films. It`s hard for me to say exactly why but I was fascinated with this, Berger is dead-on casting in the lead and the rest of the cast, particularly Herbert Lom, are terrific too. I already loved the soundtrack but gained yet more appreciation for it, it`s one of those perfect unions of music and images.

Now, who`s up for a round at the Black Cock?  :-*

My birthday is coming up and I always splurge on movies, so this will be in my sweaty, J&B-soaked hands very soon.

The Dallamano films I've seen are among my favorite Euro-cult movies.  SOLANGE is probably the giallo I have returned to most -- there's something about the atmosphere, the photography, the score that is terrific.  I also love his CURSED MEDALLION and COLT 39 SPECIAL SQUAD, minor classics in their respective sub-genres.  I've always been curious about DORIAN as well as BLACK VEIL FOR LISA.

Will post my thoughts when I watch the disc.  Andrew, thanks for the build-up!

Kimberly Lindbergs reviewed the film last year at her fab Cinebeats blog: http://cinebeats.blogsome.com/2007/04/08/massimo-dallamanos-dorian-gray/  She puts her finger on an aspect I have definitely been thinking, that this is the first film to successfully capture the decadence of Wilde. This is one of the best things I`ve read on the film.

If any U.S. people who have been reading this thread are still looking for a cheap place to find this, I ordered mine from hkflix.com.  They have a free shipping special this weekend, and though I was surprised they added tax to my order, it still was under 25 bucks.

I look fantastic as I await my disc, while that painting I have of myself ghoulishly ages.
