BUIO OMEGA is a favorite of mine as well. Probably my favorite Italian horror film of all time. But I would rather watch a good giallo or a good crime film than a good horror film.

Overall I probably prefer giallo to Italian horror too. I find I need to be in the mood to watch an Italian horror, whereas I could almost always watch a giallo.

Hmm, horror is not my main interest but 2 titles standing above the crowd IMO:

-"Night of the Devils" (Giorgio Ferroni)
-"House of the laughing windows" (Pupi Avati)

There are shitloads more, "Lisa and the devil" from Bava is great as well and of course the obligatory Fulci and D'Amato classics, I guess I don't need to mention them again here! :'(

No big hipster obsucrity here, but I still love Zombie Flesh Eaters. Hardly anything left to say about Fulci's film except it looks great, its got great music and fantastic zombies and gore. It was also my jumping off point into Italian Splatter cinema, when I picked up the Vipco cut-uncut re-issue back in the early 90's... By the way does anyone know why the pre-credit prologue was missing from the Vipco tape ? I only discovered this scene when I picked up the Dragon DVD edition a few years ago. Was it missing from the pre-cert tape ?

I'd imagine that it's because they couldn't give a fuck, and even had contempt, for their customers.

Just a theory, though.
