I've still not seen FEAR IN THE CITY but enjoyed CONVOY BUSTERS. I was always lead to believe that Merli's best work was done with Girolami and Lenzi (which it was, based on what I've seen), but was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

Hi all, first post here. What a cool forum. It's good to see people enjoying these great films. All my friends look at me funny when I try to tell them about the great Merli, Milian or Silva pic i've just watched. Nice to meet kindred spirits.

I find I can return to Violent Rome more regularly than the other Merli films, I love how he disapprovingly scolds Conte's character for advocating vigilantism and then minutes later warns him that his methods are much more severe than the vigilantes and basically takes over the running of the gang, dealing out severe lawless punishment. Priceless.

This film also holds a place in my heart on a more personal note. Twenty years ago while on holiday in Rome with my dad I got mugged and had my wallet taken by two girls aged around 15! In my defence I was only 9 or 10 years old at the time and was walking along by myself (a lame excuse). Anyway, this happened to me only about 10 metres away from the spot the brutal mugging of the old lady at the hands of the two fellas on the bike took place at, with the Coloseum in the background. Quite literally on the other side of the wall from that scene.

Ah memories......

No,but i did notice it jumped/skipped around abit in places. Not sure if it was print damage,a dodgy pressing or some problems when doing the subs. There was also something similar in the HIGH CRIME fandub around the chapter marks.

I think it was Marin that mentioned to me that the Italian DVD was cut, by a few seconds, I've not noticed anything and a mate of mine just borrowed it and didn't notice anything either. Though I must admit I've only seen the film a couple of times so I might have missed something.

Can't say i noticed anything either but the CGHV disc is a bit damaged with very crackly sound, don't think i've ever seen a decent looking copy of this.I had an English language tape from Denmark that looked washed out as well a dupe of the Portuguese tape which was the same,is the cut UK VPD tape any better?

I have this Danish VHS, thanks Jay  ::) Thinking of getting rid of the ultra-rare Greek one after I got the Danish one.

i dubbed it with the English uncut Print and the DVD is missing some 40 Seconds of Footage.
one segment is in the Supermarket Robbery (25s) and the other Pieces is someone walking away from a car (15s)

absolutely not needed Footage, but it's on all other Prints on VHS i've seen (including German VHS)
