To be honest, I wouldn't even show my missus the cut version, she already has a very low opinion of my viewing habits
Now THAT I can second 100%.

While I can show my wife the likes of "Bay of Blood", "Stendahl" or "Straw Dogs", she wouldn't exactely be wowed by the overall sleazyness of NYR, which also put me off when I first gave this flick a try at 17. When I got back to it in the Mid 90's, it was just what the doctor ordered and, yes, it was on that slightly greensih, but passable tape that was mentioned earlier.
The scene out of place is a bit of our shrink Dr. Davies at the very end, when he's walking on the street with a slightly suspicious look on his face. In the old version, this snippet features simultanously to Davies/Malco sitting in a car with Ltd. Williams/Headly!!!

The scene is supposed to appear BEFORE the"hotel" scene with Howard Ross takes off and was intended to make Malco look like another suspect (Picture freezes and we hear the main theme. Nice, though a bit clumsy

).
