Nice one. Good to hear that the picture quality is good. I remember when I was over the moon to pay £70 for the Laser Disc which had a transfer that seemed to have a lovely green tint to it.  :-\ I've still got the bugger too...

I had the tape on the same label - white cassette it came on - you're right, it had a horrible tinted print and was way to bright, if I remember right...

Yep. I missed my vocation as a proof-reader. There's LOADS of mistakes in the Bava book that I've spotted.

The Lenzi EATEN ALIVE print had a greenish tint to it as well but back then it was the best it had ever looked, anyone know what happened to PCM?Were they based in Holland or Sweden?

I have a naive question.

I'd like to buy this disk maybe next month (when i have DVD allowance refreshed  :P).
Is this a brutal film? ok ok, i know we have the excellent review here. I have read the internet and viewed some youtube clips.
But to watch this from start to end, is it enjoyable without making you feel dirty afterwards? I would like to get this and watch it with my gfriend (she likes Argento, and has seen The Beyond too). Will it be too much? I'm not a huge fan of the sexual violence stuff that does the rounds, and you mention "a scene"?

Although, mind you, someone with a Donald Duck voice slashing and dicing folks in NY sounds intriguing!

for a book with such a greedy price tag on it i find that totally unnaceptable.

Fuck off, then. Go on, get out!

Only kidding mate! To be honest, it's really grotty. That said, the Shameless release would be a perfect introduction for your gf, as the most offensive scene is toned-down considerably. It's still grimey and there are many other nasty surprises that have been left in tact. To be honest, I wouldn't even show my missus the cut version, she already has a very low opinion of my viewing habits  :-\

If she has watched the beyond with you then she shouldnt have a problem with Ripper. Ripper is just a tad sleazier is all.

I don't think the price tag is greedy at all. The book is frigging massive and it has full colour illustrations on just about every page. The only problem is that he'd forced himself into a corner regarding the endless delays and a little bit of extra post-production wouldn't have gone amiss. It looks to me mostly that they relied on a spell-checker to pick up any problems. Unfortunately this didn't catch words used incorrectly in place of others. It wouldn't be distracting to most readers, it's just that I spot these things.
