2 things:

1) Just returned back from a superb (DVD buying)-vacation in Thailand... Triple X Films Co., Ltd has released Big Guns (eng. audio... don't think it 2.35:1, more like 1.85:1) in Thailand, but sadly it's still the cut version!!





2) Had a visit by Jan Schmidt from Another World Entertainment (AWE) the other night... Apparently he's a big Delon-fan, but didn't know of this film even though is partially filmed here in Copenhagen!! (Shame on you, Jan!!!!  :-\) When I told him about the danish relations and that one of the actors in fact is danish (Søren Steen (uncredited)) I got his attention!!! I told him that it would be much appreciated, not only here in Denmark, if it would get an uncut release... He asked me if he could borrow my dvd because he would really like to see this movie... So who knows, he might consider giving it a decent release!!!!

I have that, not watched it though, i watched others on it. Quality is a gamble though.

Leonard Maltin's crew gave it 1-and-a-half stars in the early 80s. I don't know what they were smoking when he/they called it "boring", but Delon is as cold as the polar ice caps in this. Real nice stuff. I love the part where the opening car chase is kicked off by an internal view of the engine's pistons firing up. The fishtank and the leaping knife kill are the highlights. There's yet another "blink and you'll miss her" appearance by Rosalba Neri. I love Carla Gravina and her gaudy wardrobe in this. Speaking of which, does any have any info on Tessari's go-to costume designer Danda Ortona?

I was watching something called STESSO MARE,STESSO SPIAGGIA by Angelo Pannacciò earlier today and noticed it in that as well.I'd love to get a cd copy of this song,really is a bit special.

Funny enough Stephen this track is on the soundtrack to OCEAN'S TWELVE. I remember when I first saw the film in the cinema (really didn't care for it to be honest), the film opens with this track and I was like "Wow, that's from BIG GUNS". After such a great start the film went rapidly down hill.

By coincidence I watched this last night (the cheap pop flix release). I thought it was great.
The dvd was sourced from a VHS i think, flickering here and there, and 1hr44mins. I'd love to see a remastered one!

I have it and yes it is on there, it's OOP now but you can still get the track on one of Ornella Vanoni's CD's or download the track via Amazon...
